34) Changing Like God Changes | Junia (Part 1)

Quick! What's the least-discussed attribute of God? We all know God is "holy," "just," "faithful," and the like... and Jesus-followers talk a lot about cultivating those attributes in our own lives. But in a changing culture, a changing city, and a changing church, it's ironic that we so infrequently talk about the changes of... God. All through Scripture and the narrative of salvation history, God constantly undergoes change, both in God's decisions and in God's very nature. Perhaps if the church reflected this divine attribute - embracing change like God - with more intentionality, we would be better positioned to usher shalom into our communities.

Then Mark sits down with musical group Junia. In this week's Part 1 of the conversation, core members David, Amy, and Joel talk about where they grew up, how they got into music, their early musical and faith influences, and how each of them internalized music from a young age. They also talk about the discipline of holding down day jobs to support their projects, they riff on different expressions of church, and they reflect on what "success" as a musician might look and feel like for each of them.

Recorded on location at Marche Brookfield Place.
